Design an e-animal using 3D modelling

Explore some exciting tools and strategies to practice spatial reasoning skills with students. Discover how Tinkercad, a “free, kid-friendly online computer-aided design (CAD) program where users can design, modify, and print 3D objects” (Common Sense Education, 2018) can be leveraged to support students in visualizing and manipulating 3D objects. Learn how students can build a 3D model of an animal threatened by climate change and connect the learning to a climate change awareness campaign.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this on-demand webinar, you will:

  1. learn how to support students in relating spatial reasoning to 3D modelling;
  2. explore the use of a 3D modelling program, like Tinkercad, to build student’s spatial reasoning skills; and
  3. engage with the UN Sustainable Development Goals to support authentic learning experiences for students, applying their learning to building a 3D design of an animal threatened by climate change.
