Inquiry-based Learning

This self-paced course will introduce you to the basics of the inquiry-based learning approach in the Kindergarten to Grade 12 classroom. Through an exploration of the phases of the inquiry process and examples of classroom application, you will discover learning strategies and activities that you can use to empower your students to take ownership of their own learning and to develop global competencies such as critical-thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will:

  1. Describe the phases of the inquiry process;
  2. Identify the four types of student inquiry;
  3. Identify one inquiry-based learning strategy to use in your classroom.
