Empowering Student Action with the Sustainable Development Goals

Do you want to empower your students to see themselves as changemakers who can find solutions to problems in their lives and communities? During this self-paced course, you will discover how to use the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to spark student-led action in your class. Through a series of interactive and reflective activities, you will explore examples of student action projects inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals, determine what an action project might look like in your school context and discover classroom-ready resources to help you get started.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will:

  1. explore examples of student action projects inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
  2. recognize the components and student skills needed to implement an action project; and
  3. discover classroom-ready resources and projects to inspire student action in their classroom.

This course is a self-paced course. To obtain your completion badge for this course you will have to complete a self-reflection.

Grade Level

This course is suitable for educators teaching Kindergarten to Grade 12.
