Strategies To Support Scientific Communication (Grade 9 - 12)

This webinar will introduce educators to the importance of teaching reading comprehension strategies to support students’ ability to navigate text-based science communication. Educators will develop an understanding that reading is a process comprising three equally important stages. Each stage of the reading process has specific actions that support the reader in making sense of textual content.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this webinar, you will:

    1. utilize strategies to support student's ability to communicate clearly and concisely;
    2. implement comprehension strategies to deepen student understanding of scientific communication before reading, during reading, and after reading;
    3. utilize strategies that support students’ comprehension of various informational text content.
