Supporting STEM Learning using a Cross-Curricular Approach

Our experience of the world is multi-faceted. Does the way we teach prepare our students for that reality? In this self-paced course, you will discover how to leverage cross-curricular learning in order to deepen your students’ understanding of STEM concepts. Through a series of interactive and reflective activities, you will identify opportunities to make cross-curricular connections in your classroom and create a concept map to facilitate planning cross-curricular activities or learning experiences.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

    1. explain how using a cross-curricular approach supports student learning in STEM;
    2. identify opportunities to make cross-curricular connections in your classroom; and
    3. create a concept map to facilitate planning cross-curricular activities or learning experiences.

Format

This course is a self-paced course. To obtain your completion badge for this course you will have to complete a self-reflection.

Grade Level

This course is suitable for educators teaching Kindergarten to Grade 12.

This course should take you 60 minutes to complete.
