Exploring our World Through Tech

We live in a world of new and evolving technologies. Our understanding of technology and the forces that shape its continued development over time can have a significant impact on the way we view the world. 

In this course, you will investigate the power of technology as both a tool for STEM teaching and learning through a series of collaborative classroom-ready activities that examine the evolution of technology over time. Through a series of reflective and collaborative activities, you will also explore the impacts of new and old technology on society and the environment and discover how you can empower students to understand their influence over the process as conscious consumers and producers of technology. 

Fill your toolkit with learning strategies that support students in thinking critically when selecting and creating new technologies. 

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will:

    • Define the nature of technology within STEM learning.
    • Explore how the integration of technology can build student creativity, engagement and computational thinking skills.
    • Investigate the impacts of technology on society and the environment.
    • Explore a critical thinking strategy to support students in making sustainable choices when selecting and creating technologies.
