Discovering Literacy While Exploring The Outdoors

Exploring nature and the outside environment is a natural and important part of children’s learning. Children’s literature is a great initiator and connector to taking children outside to play, discover and learn to care for the natural environment. Children's literature enhances the development of language skills and critical thinking skills that provide the foundation of children’s learning about the natural world around them. This session will provide inspiring ideas for enhancing children’s learning through nature and supporting children’s curiosity, interests and creativity.
